Ryszard Ługowski

From 1977 to 1982, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the Faculty of Painting. He graduated with honors in 1982 in the studio of Prof. Stefan Gierowski (with an annex in the studio of R. Wojciechowski). Since 1984, he has been associated with his alma mater, where he works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Painting (running a drawing studio). Since 1980, he managed the Kuchnia Gallery, and since 2001, he has been running the XXI Gallery (formerly the Sculpture Gallery) in Warsaw. He is the founder and member of the Scientific Association of the Employees of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1998, he founded the fictional company ERES s.c., whose activities and projects he presents to this day at successive exhibitions. He is a co-organizer and participant in the series of exhibitions Faunomania, which were presented at the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, the Borey Art Center in St. Petersburg, and the RLBQ Gallery in Marseille. A multiple-time scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Culture and Art, the Culture Foundation; he also received a one-time Wierusz-Kowalski scholarship. He lives and works in Warsaw.

His works can be found, among others, in the collections of the Studio Gallery in Warsaw, the Museum of Art in Chełm, the BWA Collection in Sandomierz, the Collection of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the Müritz National Park, the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk, and in private collections in Poland, Germany, Australia, the United States, and Hungary.
