About the artist
Maja Korczyńska is a visual artist working at the intersection of performance, video, objects, and publications. She is a graduate in Photography from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In her practice, she uses her own image to examine how identity is constructed in digital culture.
Her works take the form of ironic, critical narratives inspired by video games, interfaces, and the aesthetics of online platforms. She explores how technological systems—from life simulators like The Sims to generative artificial intelligence—shape our self, focusing on identity as a constantly simulated, recombined, and updated process. In her projects, she employs mystification, self-creation, and performative humor. She is currently analyzing the space of WitchTok as a place where contemporary spirituality, aesthetics, and platform economics converge to create new forms of digital practices and symbolic actions.
