Karolina Kraczkowska

Polish dancer and maker associated with the choreographic collective Centrum w Ruchu in Warsaw. She graduated in Applied Linguistics from the University of Warsaw and completed her studies in Dance in Performance at the Laban Centre in London.

She began her artistic career as a member of the Polish Dance Theatre, later transitioning to independent work. She has collaborated on projects choreographed by artists such as Jasmin Vardimon, Fin Walker, Michael Keegan-Dolan, Kirstine Kyhl Andersen, Christoph Winkler, Janina Rajakangas, Leila Macmillan, Riccardo Buscarini, Tino Sehgal, Ula Sickle, and Mårten Spångberg, as well as with the younger generation of Polish creators: Alex Baczyński-Jenkins, Marta Ziółek, Ramona Nagabczyńska, Magda Ptasznik, Renata Piotrowska, Maria Stokłosa, and Paweł Sakowicz, as well as with theatre directors and dramaturgs.

She completed a short course in choreography in Warsaw, and in 2016 she was a recipient of the DanceWeb scholarship program under the mentorship of Tino Sehgal.

Alongside her work as a performer, she develops her own creative practice. Her first short solo presentation was created during a residency at Chez Bushwick in New York. She has presented installation-based performances at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art (2017, 2018), and in 2018, her solo "Sci-fi Ceremonials" premiered at Stary Browar as part of Solo Project Plus. She is currently developing a project focused on the theme of the inner warrior. In her works, she explores the body and the "self" as a continuous process (work in progress), with the capacity to undergo a series of transformations and becomings (becomings).
