Joanna Krzysztoń

Recently, together with her husband Grzegorz Rogala, she has been creating interactive installations combining Joanna's painting with computer effects, which have been exhibited at several joint exhibitions both in Poland and abroad. She studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
About the artist
Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma with honors in 1978, in the studio of Prof. J Tarasin). In the years 1978-1981 she was a member of the experimental theater, “Akademia Ruchu”. In 2007 and 2020, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Art and National Heritage. For almost eight years, she co-managed the alternative 2b+r gallery in Warsaw (together with Grzegorz Rogala, Klara Kopcińska and Józef Żuk Piwkowski). Since graduation painting has been the mainstream of her work.
Recently, together with her husband Grzegorz Rogala, she has been creating interactive installations combining Joanna’s painting with computer effects; they have been exhibited together at several exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Two installations: “Music for the Park” and “Down Under” can be seen in Center for Polish Sculpture,Orońsko, Poland.
From 2011 to 2020 she had been teaching painting at the Graphic Faculty at the Warsaw School of Information Technology WIT. For many years she has been cooperating with the independent gallery “Walka Młodych” in Warsaw, run by prof. Jan Rylke. She lives and works in Warsaw.
