About the artist
Alka Nauman (she/her) – queer interdisciplinary artist, choreographer, dancer, antifascist, and author of texts. She graduated in Choreography from London Contemporary Dance School and in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Warsaw. She is a recipient of the City of Warsaw Artistic Scholarship (2025) and the PEER Programme at Studio Wayne McGregor in London (2020–2022). Her practice explores the political and speculative potential of working with lesbian and antifascist archives through choreographic lens.
Alka Nauman’s work has been presented among others at The Place (UK), Chisenhale Dance Space (UK), Curie City (PL), Komuna Warszawa (PL), TR Warszawa (PL), Zachęta – National Gallery of Art (PL), Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (PL), the Central Museum of Textiles (PL), and as part of Outburst Queer Arts Festival (The Black Box, Belfast, UK), Festival Transform (Montevideo, Marseille, FR), and Warsaw Gallery Weekend (Pola Magnetyczne, PL).
