Through performances and interventions I engage the public in a dialogue concerning their notions of service, perception, liberation, and derivations of power. To do this the means by which I earn living is employed as ?research? to inform my artistic practice. First I find employment in a particular area of interest and then construct pieces that expose the imbedded metaphors inherent to the jobs structure. This is done through an examination of certain things that we typically take for granted such as furniture, service people, locks or teachers. This process has included extensive projects dealing with my careers in cabinetmaking, restaurant work, locksmithing, and yoga instruction. Born in 1976, I live in San Francisco, am prone to napping, and enjoy eating bakers chocolate with my brother Matt.
