Joël Hubaut

Born in Amiens in 1947 , he lives and works in Réville above the English Channel. He is teaching in Ecole the Beaux-Arts desec. in Caen. He started the work in late years 60., W. S. Burroughs stimulated by letters, the music of Eric Satie, the actionism and the pop Art. Carrying out installations, pictures, insults and different objects mainly, paradoxically he is well-known above all around one’s performanses and of poetic texts. Joining all these heterogeneous sources, Hubaut Joel is directing his activity towards hybrid and horrible blend which humorously he is describing as „Pest-Modern”. (Zaraza-moderny). In 70’s he created the first signs of the „epidemic letter” which all media are attacking, objects – human bodies – vehicles – shop windows – and the like developing processes and structures of rhizomes (rizomiczne) in the form of devices and action inter- and multidisciplinary.

In years 1978 – 1985 created the alternative space „NOUVEAU MIXAGE” (instalacja-wideo-malarstwo-poezja-koncert-performance). He also directed audiobook „FRACTAL M”

Urodzony w Amiens w 1947 roku, mieszka i pracuje w Réville nad kanałem La Manche. Uczy w Ecole des Beaux-Arts w Caen. Zaczął pracę w późnych latach 60., stymulowany przez pisma W. S. Burroughsa, muzykę Erica Satie, akcjonizm i pop art. Realizując głównie instalacje, rysunki, obrazy i różne przedmioty, paradoksalnie znany jest przede wszystkim ze swoich performansów i tekstów poetyckich. Łącząc wszystkie te heterogeniczne źródła, Joel Hubaut kieruje swoją działalność w kierunku hybrydowej i potwornej mieszanki, którą humorystycznie określa jako „Pest-Modern”. (Zaraza-moderny). W latach 70. tworzył pierwsze znaki „pisma epidemicznego”, które atakują wszystkie media, obiekty – ludzkie ciała – pojazdy – witryny – itp. rozwijając procesy i struktury kłączy (rizomiczne) w postaci urządzeń i działań inter- i multidyscyplinarnych.

W latach 1978 – 1985 tworzył alternatywną przestrzeń „NOUVEAU MIXAGE” (instalacja-wideo-malarstwo-poezja-koncert-performance). Kierował także audiobookiem „FRACTAL MUSIK” na płycie audio, wyprodukowanej przez Station Mir; od 1996 animuje „Hiatus nights” (literackiej kabarety) w Frac de Basse-Normandie. Uczestniczył w wielu festiwalach Polyphonix i licznych pokazach w Europie, USA, Kanadzie, Rosji, Meksyku, Japonii, Chinach.
