I would like the second-hand books to be changing hands, to be drifting around at the mercy of people and coincidence; to be carrying the contents created not only by their authors, but by their users as well.
I leave the worn but precious books in places where they can find new owners, new partners. Using stamps and pencil notes I put in them my own micro-statements. It is to me a kind of continuation of mail art idea.
I would like the books printed on paper ? before getting replaced by the electronic ones ? to have a chance to take advantage of their status of material objects by collecting equivocal symptoms of their own histories. Each specimen of the Drifting Book has its own niche area for the users.
