I would like, apoplectic that used books, passing from hand to hand, would drift among people dependent on their decisions and chance. That they carry not only content created by their authors, but also by their users.
I leave used but valuable books in places where they can find new owners and new partners. With the help of stamps and pencil entries, I put my anonymous micro-messages in these books. For me it is a kind of continuation of the idea of mail art.
Before being replaced by e-books, I would like books printed on paper to use their status as material objects accumulating the ambiguous symptoms of their stories. Each copy of the drifting book has its own niche space for users.
